Rio de Janeiro

The August 2012 conference in Rio de Janeiro, in which I will participate, seems likely to turn into a sort of “traveling circus” with at least three stagings of the conference within Brazil. Salvador and São Paulo are the other likely locations, it is said. More on this once we have more details.

I’ve been to Brazil once before, using a spare frequent flyer ticket to go Chicago-Rio shortly before I moved to Egypt. I spent a week in Rio, which is every bit as gorgeous as you think it is, but had no time to see other parts of Brazil on that brief journey.
