It’s true. While Tahrir is being emptied, there remains a significant social justice component of this revolution. One Egyptian commentator noted the “decadent wealth” that has amassed in some classes of society while others can barely afford basic food anymore. Inflation has ravaged the economy in the past five years even to the point that I sometimes notice it, let alone those who are living close to the edge along with their families. The Egyptian economy will need some serious restructuring to prevent a new explosion from these groups.
