open letter to Mubarak from an Egyptian
February 12, 2011
THIS LETTER was written by Khaled Diab at Chronikler, following Mubarak’s ultra-lame and infuriating final speech, and nicely captures the mood of many Egyptians in response to it.
You may already be familiar with the Chronikler blog, if you followed my link a few days ago to the grotesque beating death photos of blogger Khaled Said.
And to repeat, since there are many things in Cairo named after Mubarak that will need to be renamed, I hope Khaled Said gets something named after him. The Mubarak Metro Station would be one option. But even more delicious would be renaming the Hosni Mubarak Police Academy (yes, it exists). I would love to see the Khaled Said Police Academy training Egypt’s police of the future.
