email from an Egyptian colleague

I’d written to an Egyptian colleague at AUC who I thought might be a candidate for arrest or harassment this week. Here is his response:

“Dear Graham,
Many thanks for your concern.
I and my friends are safe. we have been demonstrating in tahrir since the 25th and we are looking forward to a free and safe Egypt.”
