slow crawl through the heart of it

Wow, this is exciting. Not at all what I expected. Festive attitude everywhere despite visibly conflicting views. Strange.

Going now just north of state TV headquarters, and can hear Tahrir Square sounds off to the left. It’s not that far away. Might not be able to resist going down there pretty immediately. Will have to see what the situation is like in the neighborhood first.

It’s a bit tense, but still the same old Cairo. I’m feeling glad as hell to be back.
