Pretty much none.
My place wasn’t looted. Indeed, the entire building wasn’t even touched, so there was another pointless worry fueled by media exaggeration. The city is surprisingly functional, though admittedly not fully so.
There’s a sort of convenience store a few doors down from me, and they’re putting boards up, though I suspect that’s in order to get ready for nightfall rather than putting it over any damage-already-done.
Along with the thrill of being back in Cairo, the re-emergence of the internet means that about 12 long lost friends and colleagues just emerged from the mist, and we’re in the middle of trading stories.
