SEP in York

January 11, 2011

It’s ironic to hear that Michèle Le Doeuff will be one of the other keynotes at SEP in York, for the simple reason that she was also one of the keynotes at the first academic conference I ever attended: the 1990 SPEP at Villanova.

And I’ll be at Villanova to give another keynote in April, so that’s two nice little pieces of symmetry, especially since I should be able to drive down to Annapolis for a brief visit after the Villanova conference ends.

I hope this doesn’t mean I’ll be dying soon and all the threads are being tied together by the Norns in order to be cut suddenly. If I meet my Kindergarten teacher in any of the airports, I’ll know I’m in serious trouble.

Along with Le Doeuff, Jacques Taminiaux was another keynote speaker at that 1990 SPEP, but I can’t remember if there was a third.

I think a SEP call for papers will go out soon, though I have yet to see it.
