SEP plenary talk
January 7, 2011
I’ll be giving a SEP (Society for European Philosophy) plenary address. It will be in York this year.
Haven’t decided on a topic yet.
And I just realized, this means I can go back to visit Scarborough, which for some reason is one of my favorite places in England. Very close to York.
York also reminds us that the Saxons sometimes get a bum rap about losing the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Before doing that they had to crush the invading Norwegians near York, then rush southward to meet the Normans. If there were ever unfair military conditions, poor King Harold II of England certainly experienced them.
