Here’s Tim with A BRIEF REACTION to my savanna post of yesterday.

Yes, it was quite satisfying to be in the park at a more-than-scientific level. There was a strange sense of fulfillment in inhabiting that landscape for a couple of days, and it made me reflect on how 8,000 years of agriculture and urbanism might not have been enough to adapt us to anything other than our natural home: mild African highlands.
