first proofs of Meillassoux book already corrected
December 30, 2010
Wow, that sets a speed record. Edinburgh’s copyeditor only had 15 questions about the whole of the manuscript of the Meillassoux book. I had budgeted several days in January to deal with the corrections, but there are barely any, and I just did them since posting the previous photo.
Almost all of them were cases where I forgot to put a closing quotation mark and she needed to know where it went. Then a couple of missing words. Also, I had inadvertantly left Meillassoux’s French spellings of the characters he refers to from The Brothers Karamazov, and the copyeditor kindly tracked down the English character names which I hadn’t done myself.
In any case, I was able to answer all 15 queries with about 10 minutes of work. Not bad. This project is rolling, which is kind of ironic given that it was a bit harder to start than most of my books have been.
