weird Howard Cosell video

Just ran across this piece of footage on the web… Howard Cosell announcing the death of John Lennon at the end of a close Monday Night Football game.

There are things you regret being too young for and almost too young for. I have no memory at all of the moon landing, for example (1 year old). And of the things I do remember but was too young to appreciate were the Howard Cosell-Muhammad Ali exchanges. When you watch them on film now they were absolutely brilliant, but they were just part of the banal landscape of the 1970’s to me then. Should have appreciated them more.
