snowy, snowy day in Paris

December 8, 2010

I took a photo to try to show you what I mean, but the image looks far tamer than the reality. This is a real snowstorm in Paris!

Down in the city there’s something a bit magical about it. But it happens to be the wet and cold kind of snowstorm rather than the dry and relatively warm kind. I’m simply not dressed for it, and had to come straight back to Charles de Gaulle Airport.

My primary mission was to hunt for L’Objet quadruple, which I still didn’t own. I thought I’d first try the Fnac at Les Halles, then move on to the usual Latin Quarter suspects if necessary. But Fnac had three copies, and I bought them all. One for me, two for Francophone friends in Cairo.

I’m not yet sure if I’ll get out of here tonight. The board is lit up with cancelled flights.
