today’s conference schedule

December 3, 2010

We’re an hour and fifteen minutes away from the first conference papers of the day. To repeat, I will try to live-blog all the papers but can make no guarantees, because:

1. People may start not to like it. Those I’ve asked don’t seem to mind, but if I start getting a number of dirty looks or other sub-verbal cues that people aren’t comfortable with it, then I will stop.

2. The battery on this computer could die without my being able easily to recharge it from my assigned seat. I’ll have to look again at the infrastructure this morning.

The Haraway/Stengers pair is obviously a strong opening, but today looks great as well. This conference has its act together. The schedule is as follows (all times are Pacific Standard Time, which is 3 hours behind New York and 8 hours behind London):

9:00-10:30. Jeffrey Bell and Michael Halewood.

11:00-12:30. Levi Bryant and Roland Faber.

2:00-3:30. James Bono and Andrew Goffey.

4:00-5:30. Student panel: Michael Austin (Newfoundland), Beatrice Marovich (Drew University, New Jersey), Melanie Seghal (Darmstadt, Germany)

6:30-8:00. Dr. Zamalek vs. Steven Shaviro, Part Two.
