Los Angeles

December 1, 2010

The jetlagged Malibu part of the trip is over, and it’s lecture time. Ian and I are in the hotel, with Levi Bryant and Tim Morton expected in the coming hours.

Today I went with Ian down to USC to see him lecture to the School of Communications and Journalism there. His talk, on his book Newsgames, was well-received. Ian’s one of the better academic speakers I’ve seen in our generation; he holds the crowd’s attention well and has the right sort of sense of humor for a public forum.

Someone just told me via email that Morton is live-streaming tomorrow’s festivities at UCLA. Is that true? And if so, how did I miss it? Luckily, I’ll be meeting Morton (for the first time ever) 7 or 8 hours from now and can ask him directly.
