Sanayeh
October 8, 2010
Here’s a photo of OUR BEIRUT DINNER two weeks ago, courtesy of my excellent host Adrian Lahoud.
The photo doesn’t really capture the full spirit of the place, though. It has a small terrace in the back and a larger one in front, which sends a nice breeze through the place at all times. (Though I’ve still never felt hotter while lecturing; Beirut in late September was as humid a place as I’ve ever been.)
Mansour Aziz is the bearded man standing at back and center. He’s the facilitator who rents out that apartment for cultural events, and though I don’t have his contact information, maybe you can track him down if you want to hold a weeklong event of some sort in Beirut.
If you start out from Hamra, the popular neighborhood where the American University of Beirut is located, Sanayeh is the next neighborhood you hit as you’re headed toward downtown.
