OOO and dance

September 4, 2010

Word now reaches me of another blow against those who doubt the applicability of OOO to other fields: tonight at 10 PM in Zagreb (an intellectually lively place), the choreography of Nikolina Pristaš will be on display:

“semi-inspired by work of: Joseph Beuys, Francoise Delsarte, Steven Shaviro, Bruno Latour and Graham Harman.”

(All good names, and certainly the first time I’ve been mentioned in the same breath as Beuys, a fascinating figure.)

Strange that such doubts should arise. We’ve already had at least two OOO-inspired art shows at important galleries, with further resonance in medieval studies, architecture, archaeology, film theory, and other fields whose identity eludes my memory at the moment.

Oh yeah, there was also the techno dj who was promoting object-oriented techno against “dj’ing of access.” I wish I had a tape of his music.
