Cassou-Noguès book now available

September 4, 2010

From Paris, Bob Vallier sends word that Le bord de l’expérience, by Pierre Cassou-Noguès, is now on the shelves. I kept looking for it during the final week in Paris, but it never appeared at that time. It uses figures such as Merleau-Ponty and Whitehead to construct a speculative system.

I believe L’Objet quadruple is next in the series (November), followed by Tristan Garcia’s Forme et objet: Traité des choses (January). They no doubt have other books in the pipeline too, but I’m not sure what they are.

So far I know very little about how Garcia’s concept of objects resembles or differs from that of OOO, and of course I am looking forward to devouring that book in its entirety within days of its appearance. Given that he’s a prize-winning novelist, it will probably be a delightful read on top of whatever he has to say.
