anyone know an iPod trick?

I had that hard drive crash in late June, to which I may have referred here on this blog. Naturally, I had all of my writing projects thoroughly backed up. But I had done a poor job of backup on some email and an awful job of backup on MP3 files.

So here’s my situation. My iPod is loaded up with all of my good music. But as soon as I plug it back into the computer to recharge, my understanding is that all of that good music will be erased, since the iPod will be overwritten with the much feebler collection of tunes that is now on my hard drive.

Does anyone know a good trick for rescuing all that music from my iPod? Some of this stuff would be extremely difficult to obtain again, for various reasons. Please email me if you’ve found a successful solution to such a predicament.
