Lille in the rain?

The schizophrenic French weather patterns continue. This morning it’s threatening rain again. There are a few hours to kill in Lille coming up, and I hope it’s not pouring by then.

I could use a couple more weeks of Paris, but the fact is I’ll be back in Cairo on Thursday night, God willing.

Perhaps I should add that I was delighted to see on the map that Lille has a metro. Being a great enthusiast of underground trains, I’m always impressed by less-than-gigantic cities that have them. Nuremberg is another place that surprised me by having one.

I should also mention Toulouse, which has a pretty fancy Metro system with a number of aesthetically pleasing features. In fact, Toulouse is one of those places that, whenever remembered, immediately makes me wish to return. What a lovely city it is.
