speaking of German-language material

August 20, 2010

I’m now told that Roland Vouillé will be the translator of my piece for the Realismus Jetzt! anthology due out from Merve Verlag (Berlin) in early 2011. A number of SR-related authors are included in the collection, though I don’t have the complete list handy. The editor of the volume is Tobias Huber, who will soon be joining the gang at the University of the West of England in Bristol, a stimulating and humane Ph.D. program that all you undergraduates ought to consider. I certainly would if I were at that stage. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS.

My piece in the volume will be the September 11, 1999 “Object-Oriented Philosophy” lecture from a conference at Brunel University outside London. I asked if they didn’t want something more recent than that, but in the end the “historic” value of that piece (the first where the term was used) seemed to appeal to them. It will appear for the first time in English as a chapter of Towards Speculative Realism, due out in November.
