Tristan Garcia video

As I impatiently await his book with the very promising title Forme et objet: Traité des choses (announced for January 2011), I ran across THIS VIDEO, in which he is interviewed more qua novelist than qua philosopher. Seems like a pleasant and engaging fellow.

(And just as Des Esseintes in Huysmans’ À Rebours liked real plants that look fake, I love real names that sound fake. “Tristan Garcia” is a candidate for such a name, while a friend of mine pointed out that “Bruno Latour” also sounds fake. And now I’m on a Ph.D. committee with a guy named Beau Lotto, which no novelist would ever dare make up.)
