And here’s Google’s French version of the top of my post about lunch today, taken from Ian’s Speculative Realism aggregator. (Cameron will be pleased by the French title of my blog.)

But why’s it doing that weird thing with word order? “Bob DePaul Vallier”? That should be an easy mistake to fix.

“et est difficile à travailler” is obviously a complete misinterpretation of “and is hard at work”

So, they need to keep modifying this. But back in the 1990’s these translations were so hideously bad that I stopped looking at them ever since. They’ve made a significant step forward, I think.
