*lol* That would be my theory as well. But I almost never see a drunken Frenchman/French woman in France itself, and I had never thought of that until it was mentioned by whatever author it was whom I was reading. I think it may even have been Gibbon, come to think of it.

“It is pretty interesting that they’re getting into the likes of Twardowski and Stumpf over there. Which Stumpf did you buy. Looking at Amazon.fr I see a volume called Renaissance de la philosophie. Is that the one?”

Yes, that’s the one. It seems to be a relatively small circle doing it in France, just as it was mostly Roderick Chisholm and Barry Smith and Kevin Mulligan and a few others doing in in the Anglophone world. But it’s nice to see the French catching onto this badly underrated current of fairly recent philosophy. I wish I knew it a lot better than I do.
