In other news… Dinner was good: Corsican food, plus Graeme Wood’s usual inside geopolitical tips. Afterwards the three of us took a little walk along the Canal St.-Martin, and that’s the right time there: just a bit pre-dusk.

I’m also planning a handful of super-long TGV day trips to French cities I’ve never seen before, but will do those next week, not this week. I’ll keep those a surprise until I’ve returned from them.

Hey, this is a really nice apartment, except that there’s about as much air circulation in here as there was in my great grandma’s place when she was about 92. No luck finding a fan today, and open windows in Paris at night gives you that weird “Paris summer head cold,” so it’s another stuffy night ahead.
