Whitehead in Claremont
May 14, 2010
The invitation list for the Whitehead conference in Claremont in December looks good. They didn’t say it’s secret but I guess I should wait until they have all the official acceptances and print the schedule with actual names rather than “Speaker A” or the equivalent thereof.
Latour’s the only missing name I had hoped to see there, but it’s no shock to see the poor guy not being able to accept absolutely every invitation that comes his way. He’s possibly the busiest person I know, unless Bogost is.
But it’s probably OK to say that they want to pair up me and Steven Shaviro in a single mixed martial arts session. Actually, it won’t be much of a fight, since we’re seeing eye to eye on things more often these days, and don’t have any sort of personality clash in the first place (and that’s usually the thing that causes problems, more than intellectual disagreement per se).
