What?!

It’s funny how musical acts (and even philosophers and literary figures) can find these odd little national niches. On my first trip to Germany, 1989, I was puzzled to hear Sean Shaun Cassidy played on the radio, and apparently with the d.j. keeping a straight face. (By ’89, if he ever reached the air in the USA it would only have been thanks to some snarky college d.j. dripping with irony.)

(By the way, what can he possibly be doing now? What do you afterward when your life peaks as the 19-year-old national crush of 13-year-old girls?)
