p.s. GRATTON REMINDS ME of an even more obvious point, which is Popper’s utterly excessive handling of Plato. I didn’t mean to imply that his treatment of Whitehead was worse. It’s just that one grows up hearing about how Popper thinks Plato is an evil totalitarian, and so then it comes as less than a surprise.
