The English version of The Quadruple Object, which was going to be published by Open Humanities Press, will now be published by zerO Books instead.

This is the result of a tricky legal situation with Presses universitaires de France concerning L’objet quadruple, the French version of the work. They did give me the publication rights for all languages other than French, but they retained global electronic rights in all languages.

In my opinion and that of people more expert than I in such legalities, that means that The Quadruple Object cannot be published in open access format even in English. Free English PDF’s online would count as treading on PUF’s global electronic rights, and no one wants to hassle with negotiations on that.

So, the English will appear only in traditional book form with zerO. I’ll make up the disappointment to OHP with a new book, simply titled Treatise on Objects in quasi-17th century fashion.

Another side effect of this: I won’t be doubling the length of The Quadruple Object as originally planned. 42,000 words is already an ideal length for a zerO book, though it would’ve been soemwhat too short for OHP.
