first Jordan clip in awhile

March 6, 2010

Here’s another of Jordan’s most famous moments: the in-the-air switch of the ball from one hand to the other. It almost happens too quickly to enjoy, so you really need to wait to see it on replay a couple of times. Marv Albert with the call, as you always want in big NBA moments.

I remember this moment vividly. It was Game 2 of the 1991 NBA Finals, with the frustrated Bulls looking for their first title. They had been upset in Game 1 at home by the Lakers, and really needed this one badly. They ended up winning 4 straight games after that opening loss in the series to capture their first of what would eventually become 6 NBA Championships in 8 years with Jordan (only missing out during his 2 retirement years).

Special highlight: a very young-looking Coach Phil Jackson.

Jordan = still the most intimidating, most competitive athlete any of us ever saw.
