hanging with the mannequins

December 28, 2009

From the same day as the previous slide. These are the mannequins used for fashion design purposes by Tammy Lu, whose cover art will soon be a book series trademark in these parts. (And her razor-sharp daughter Beatrice is the central character in my “Time, Space, and Essence” essay which will appear in Towards Speculative Realism.)

This day was another of those “I went to England to lecture and all I got was this stupid throat infection” moments, though you can’t really tell as well here as you can in Hallward’s April 2007 Speculative Realism event photos, when I was really laid low with the infection. In the present case, I was able to battle it off thanks to an early trip to the NHS people.
