package of books waiting
December 17, 2009
The Department Secretary says a package of books is waiting for me (because we often have to pay a small tariff on Amazon shipments). It’s probably not the new Heidegger volume, because that’s likely to be a small package and they wouldn’t fuss over a tariff that tiny.
So, it’s probably 1 book by Mark Fisher and 2 by Adrian Johnston. I think that’s the last shipment I ordered from the USA.
As for the Heidegger volume, I’m not expecting much. At this point his newly appearing stuff is 90% chaff, 10% wheat (except for the volumes of correspondence, which are almost always fantastic; he’s a surprisingly good letter writer). This looks like a chaff volume coming up: it’s yet another in-the-vein-of-the-Beiträge volume. I was once excited about the Beiträge too, but I was 23 then. Things change.
