still no ecological niche for Twitter

December 13, 2009

I continue to receive lots of requests to follow me on Twitter from people I don’t know, and who are presumably readers of this blog. That’s fine, but for now I fear they will be disappointed; I still haven’t found the proper niche for Twitter in my writing ecosystem.

My long thoughts go in my published work.

My medium-sized thoughts go onto this blog.

My short thoughts go onto Facebook.

What does that leave for Twitter? Not much, except for insider feedback to my more prolifically tweeting friends, which must be fairly incomprehensible to my Twitter onlookers. “@ravenme: Sounds great. Excellent.”; “@ohradiogirl: All right, see you after Christmas break then.”

Not very inspiring material, I admit. But I’m still looking for the right sort of thought that belongs only to Twitter. Zizekspeaks seems to have figured out how to do it, and so should I.
