nightmare flight

December 5, 2009

Things apparently got out of hand on an Air India flight from Sharjah to Delhi. The pilot and co-pilot left the cockpit to fight two cabin crew members. I would hope that a few careers are in jeopardy after this incident:

“The crew claimed that the pilots had sexually harassed a 24-year-old air stewardess, while the pilots alleged that a male member of the crew, Amit Khanna had misbehaved and endangered safety. They said that the air stewardess falsified a complaint of sexual harassment to distract attention from Khanna’s misconduct. No one denied the slugfest.

During the scuffle, the cockpit was reportedly left unmanned for a time, as the aircraft flew over Pakistani territory. As the parties involved hurled abuses at each other, Arora reportedly threatened to land the plane in Karachi, as the 106 passengers onboard watched in shock.”
