the NY Times on the riots

Here’s an informative PIECE IN THE NY TIMES BY MICHAEL SLACKMAN, a friend of a friend of mine, who is a regular Cairo writer for the Times.

That’s a nice photo at the top of rioters confronting police, and that is indeed my street. This image seems to be from Thursday night. I saw that portion of the riot from my balcony, when the police went forward with shields to try to push back the rioters.
