all calm so far

Through 2 P.M., nothing has happened near the Algerian Embassy, thankfully. The security presence is simply so overwhelming that perhaps it seems not worth it to last night’s troublemakers to try again today.

This whole period certainly does add some texture to how I view my home street, though. I always just thought of it as a normal Zamalek street, not as a potential riot zone. (And most likely nothing like this will ever happen here again.)
