a couple of Levi responses

These aren’t responses to my posts, but to reader questions, and both are very interesting. (Levi remains the king of blog treatises written under rushed conditions “sorry, but my pot of spaghetti is just about to boil over, but this will be short, so I can only write 3,000 words in response at the moment”.)
