introducing Eric Phetteplace

In Levi’s comments section, Mr. Phetteplace (previously unknown to me) identifies himself as the author of today’s interesting discovery, THE SPECULATIVE REALISM PATHFINDER WEBSITE.

Hello, I am the U of I student who made the Pathfinder website. I just posted my website last night and it’s already on LS! A testament to how web-savvy SR is.
As far as the course, I am a graduate student in the Library and Information Science program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The website is for my Reference class; the assignment was to make a brief guide to a subject area and I chose SR for a few reasons, including A) traditional philosophical reference materials are virtually useless (i.e. Oxford Companion to Phil. & Encyclopedia of Phil. don’t have an entry, even online sources like Stanford’s Encyclopedia are lacking) & B) I find it truly exciting how much of the SR debate takes place between blogs and websites. I’ve been reading Larval Subjects for maybe a year now and that basically got me hooked; I started out interested in Deleuze and LS sort of converted me over.
Disclaimer: This Pathfinder is not comprehensive! I’m well aware there are about a dozen more blogs and several key texts I’ve left off. If it’s a valuable service I can make the lists more exhaustive later, but I want to get my grade first since the professor does not want a huge list but just an introductory guide.
