It took me 54 minutes to enter on the computer the changes made by hand in the coffee shop this morning. That yields the following figure:
82 hours, 59 minutes to write everything other than the short final Chapter 10. That’s what I will outline now and write tonight and tomorrow.
The changes of this morning only added a total of about 60 words, which is good news. When editing manuscripts, there is a natural tendency to add lots of clarifying phrases without cutting much, and it is all too easy to let a draft balloon into a much larger final document.
