Atlanta

November 7, 2009

Shaviro gave his lecture in Atlanta yesterday. I’ve read it, it’s very interesting, and it will be included (along with my response) in The Speculative Turn.

Ian Bogost also gave a keynote address at that same conference, which I think was also yesterday. The ABSTRACT IS HERE. (Bogost and I use the term “ontography” for different things, incidentally. I’m using it for the first time in L’objet quadruple, not to refer to my entire position, but only to the part that deals with the mechanics of the ten object/quality pairs.)

I’m wondering how on earth I missed this conference. I should’ve gone. Lots of outside lectures this year already, but this would have been a good conference to catch.
