what the Iran expert said

And I forgot to mention that I had a few minutes to kill in the studio afterward, while waiting for them to burn my DVD of the program. And Egypt’s top Iran expert was there killing the time with me, so of course I asked him for his take on Iran. None of it was that surprising, but his expertise gives it a certain weight.
Briefly stated, he now sees almost no chance of any war involving Iran. He says that U.S.-Iran relations in Iraq are now extremely good, and nothing could be done to Iran without U.S. approval. At a time like this, the U.S. has its hands more than full with Afghanistan/Pakistan issues, and it would obviously be far too dangerous to let anything happen in Iran as well. So, there you have his take on it. Make of it what you will.
