Forget Rosenbaum’s piece (though GRATTON SAYS says that he’s written stuff like this before).

Much worse is Carlin Romano’s RIDICULOUS PIECE IN THE CHRONICLE, which I somehow managed to miss until this afternoon. It really is pretty embarrassing that the Chronicle would stoop to this level.

I even agree with BRIAN LEITER on this one (he’s wrong that “most of what is interesting [in Heidegger] is highly derivative of earlier figures in German philosophy”, but that’s a legitimate philosophical dispute that can always be had).
