The maintainer of a list called “For and on Behalf of the Victims of Erich Kofmel” wrote and pointed out to me that links to numerous articles on the various scams can be found lower on the page with the “mug shot” I posted earlier.

The same person also wrote back to say this:

“And for readers of your blog that wish to watch the BBC documentary (BBC iPlayer can only be viewed from a UK IP address), it will appear on our blog http://kofmel.blogspot.com/?ref=EG2”

So now I get it… After doing that “credit check” scam for awhile, he would advertise non-existent vacation rentals on the internet, keep the money, and disappear.
