I wouldn’t worry about it too much, Ian. The “Ludlow” character isn’t very interesting.
As for Cogburn, he’s a basically good guy who simply becomes very upset at criticisms of analytic philosophy, and I interpret his “reinventing the wheel” remarks and damn-with-faint-praise tone as reactions to what he sees as unjust criticisms of his discipline by both me and Levi. He became very upset once when I said that few analytic philosophers have any staying power as authors. But no offense was intended on that occasion.
And Levi was right about this: OOO has nothing to do with representational realism.
