OOO blog

September 4, 2009

While killing off a bit of insomina here, I noticed that Levi linked to the new Ennis blog on 0bject-Oriented Ontology. I still have no cut and paste capability, so you will have to go to the Larval Subjects blog and look down about three posts to find the link.

This will help balance things out. As much as I love the Speculative Heresy guys, they are too impressed for my tastes with both Laruelle and cognitive science: no bridge to the superman, in my book.

Just browsed the Ennis OOO blog, and my only disagreement so far is with his claim that Collapse is sympathetic to OOO. By no means. Collapse was the initial house journal for the S.R. movement, and though they published a few of my things, their interests lie somewhere more between Deleuze and aggressive scientism, and I doubt I’ll publish anything else there. I think Collapse was at its peak in about 1997 2007, and that the new energy will move elsewhere. The last issue was not as good as the previous one in my opinion, with the exception of a few interesting pieces. (However, the editorial comments have gradually improved over time. The design was always nice, but the editorial introduction in the first one was weaker than later ones. The editor is learning from practice.)
