more on the lecture
August 15, 2009
There were three sections planned for this lecture following the Introduction.
I just finished Section 1, which ended up being 12 pages, in a total of 2 hours, 17 minutes.
That’s a pretty good start for the day. It’s now 14 pages long, and I didn’t even really get started until 6 PM (it’s now 11:30).
Probably, given how quickly I read, I can get away with pushing this to 20 pages, but no longer. That means it can easily be finished off tomorrow, and maybe even revised into final form.
It does mean that I’ll have to drop Section 3, but that’s OK. It was the more metaphysical part, and I think that Section 2, on intellectual method, will be of more interest to the audience in Manchester.
Once this is finished and polished, that means I will have no (intellectual) obligations other than L’objet quadruple between now and September 1.
The day started off with a bit of a sour flavor, work-wise, and those are always the best days to try to reverse into something useful.
