Hiroshima anniversary

As mentioned on this blog a number of times, I had the chance to visit both Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 2007, and found the experience deeply disturbing. (Though ironically, having spent a full week in Hiroshima, I can honestly call it a very lively and happy place– despite the remaining grim reminders of the bomb, including a small number of elderly people on the street who certainly appeared to have bomb-related facial injuries.)
