On a second encounter the guy wasn’t an aloof hipster at all, just hyper-eccentric and not sure how to communicate with people.

The book was printed as I asked. The cover was still a bit sticky from the machine, but otherwise it looked the same as the real thing. This is a nice invention, and will only get better over time. Better for the environment a well, not to ship and maintain huge inventories of books.
