these people have their act together

Never, even have I been assigned an office when visiting a university to give an invited lecture. That’s about as classy as it gets. (And you should see the hotel they’re putting me up in. It has a dress code– gentlemen may not enter the dining room without a jacket and tie.)

I’m talking about the UCD people. They have it together. Before the trip one of them even gave me his personal credit card number and simply trusted me to find a good airfare. I haven’t met any of them yet, but this all bodes very well for the week ahead.

Was just in a pub watching Chelsea-Liverpool. I don’t know much about English football at all, but it was fun to hang out in there and see everyone get so involved in the match.
